We sell stickers and hoodies. We're trying to get more people the con experience.
Cyber Whatnot started as a Discord post about a funny t-shirt idea. It's turned into something we take seriously — putting proceeds back into the community that made this fun in the first place, one BSides sponsorship and one DEF CON badge at a time.
Every order chips in toward getting more people through the door.
We're not a nonprofit and we're not pretending to be one. We're a small merch brand that decided the fun stuff — stickers, hoodies, dumb sticker jokes about GPT 9000 — should do a little good on the side.
Local BSides events
We sponsor and support local BSides conferences — the ones that run on volunteer hours, donated venue space, and way too much pizza.
DEF CON badges
When we can, we cover badge costs for community members who'd otherwise have to sit a year out.
Airfare assist
Sometimes the hardest part isn't the badge, it's getting there. We help cover flights for people who need it most.
"I'm not trying to get rich off this. I've got a day job. This is about putting something back into a community that's given me a lot."
How much we give back depends entirely on how much we sell — there's no marketing-department promise here, no fixed percentage carved in stone. Just intent, and a track record we're building one order at a time.
Buy a sticker. Back a badge.
Every hoodie, mug, and dumb sticker in the store helps fund the next round of BSides sponsorships and DEF CON badges.
